Small central circular depression on one face flanked by a stamped capitalised crowned "I", indicating a 17th C manufacture or validation in the reign of James I or II. The reverse is covered in multi-directional file marks presumably evidence of fettling and weight adjustment. Weight 0.118oz (3.34g), diameter 15.2mm.

An incomplete post-Medieval or Modern sheet copper-alloy mount (c. 1600-c. 1950). This mount, in repouss√© style, has been pressed and is in the form of a Tudor double rose. The front has central disc florets, five inner and five outer leaves. The outer leaves are divided by a sepal. The reverse has the stub of a spike, the other spike is missing. The mount is purple with light green and buff corrosion products. Imbedded material on the reverse includes flecks of black material which may be soot.
