An Anglo-Saxon silver penny of Beornwulf (823-825) of Mercia. Minted in East Anglia. Moneyer Eadgar. North number 396 (Be. 5) (Naismaith E22.1), struck 823-825. There is a coin from the same obverse die in the British Museum showing that the full reading of the obverse is +DEORVVLF RE Diameter 20mm. Weight 0.81g. Die axis 270. Obverse: +[DEORV]VLFRE Reverse: [ ]GAR (unbarred A) EMC number 2017.0111.
