A ceramic mortarium rim sherd. The fabric is quite hard with a fine grainy surface texture. It is an off-white colour and the upper surface has situation grits consisting of rounded white and pink/brown quartz that are evenly spread across the surface, within the rim. The rim has a beaded upper edge and a down-turned flange.
The sherd is slightly abraded and only a fragment of the complete vessel. It weighs 70g. The sherd was probably made at the Oxfordshire kilns.

The sherd is abraded and is only a fragment of the complete vessel. It weighs 78g. The sherd was probably made at the Oxfordshire kilns.

A ceramic mortarium base sherd. The fabric is slightly soft with a powdery surface. It has a mid grey core with mid orange coloured surfaces. The fabric has a fine grained texture. The upper surface has some situation grits remaining; they are rounded pink and white quartz.
The sherd is slightly abraded, and weighs 4g. The sherd dates to the Roman period, and the source of the fabric is uncertain.

It is an off-white colour and the upper surface has occasional situation grits consisting of angular dark grey grits. The rim is a hammer-head style with linear grooves on the as decoration on the exterior surface.

Copper alloy Roman Aucissa brooch dating to the 1st century. The brooch is quite worn and is cast into a fine sheet of metal. The head of the brooch is rolled to form the pin bar attachment although it has been damaged on this example. The bow has a central raised rib running horizontally down the front surface which was probably decorated with enamel. The bow tapers slightly towards the foot and has a decorative terminal eventually ending in a sharp point where the foot has corroded and worn away. The catchplate does not survive. Copper alloy Roman belt or strap slider. The piece comprises a rectangular decorated plate with an integrally cast rectangular loop on the reverse. The loop is located at the top (rather than centre) of the reverse of the piece. The decoration on the front is highly detailed with remains of red enamel in many of the cells. The overall style of the decoration is Celtic in form and appears to be some sort of lotus flower. The slider weighs 10.66g and measures 21.4mm in length, 18.7mm in width and 10.7mm in thckness.

Romano-British button and loop fastener of Wild's Class Vb and dating to the 2nd to 3rd century. The fastener has a circular head with enamel decoration in the form of a ring of red enamel. The button is attached to the loop element via an integrally cast arm which attaches the two elements together a right angle. The loop is sub-rectangular in form. These type of fasteners are thought to have been used for fastening clothing, probably cloaks. The fastener weighs 6.35g and measures 31.53mm in length, 20mm in width and 12.5mm in thickness.
