A cast lead alloy Medieval button dating to c.AD 1300-1550. This button has a slightly bent profile and a wide diameter, with two central holes set in a circular recess. These are now filled with soil. This artefact has a few surface marks and an even grey surface patina. The button is 24.29mm in diameter, 3.02mm thick and weighs 12.07 grams. An incomplete lead Papal bulla probably of Pope Nicholas III (1277-80). It has been folded and broken post-deposition, neither the reverse or obverse are entirely clear. The reverse depicts the face of Saint Paul, moulded in bas relief surrounded by a separate pellet border with a croziernd enclosed within a circumferencial border. A complete Medieval cast silver-gilt finger ring, of stirrup style, and dating to c.AD.1150-1500. Description: The object is stirrup shaped, with a sub-circular hoop rising to a triangular bezel. In cross-section the hoop is D-shaped and is uninscribed. The bezel has an integrally cast silver boss, in place and in imitation of a gem setting. An extremely Medieval French Jetton dating to c.15th centuries AD, probably a Tournai stock issue dating to c. 1415-c. 1497, but probably struck after 1478. (obverse as Mitchiner 1988, 223, ref: 651). The obverse carries a crown within a wire line circle, surrounded by the legend AVE MARIA GRACIA PL ERA DN On the reverse is a double-voided cross fleuretty within a double tressure of four arches. In the centre of the cross is a voided quatrefoil and there is a flower of three petals in each of the angles. The letters A-V-E-M are within the corners.
