A Medieval trapezoidal copper alloy strap slide with separate rivet. The sides have a rectangular cross section with the front part having rounded edges. There is a drilled hole which holds a copper alloy rivet in the rear part of the frame. Circa 14th century.

A complete copper alloy probable medieval swivelling strap fitting. The object consists of a circular cross-sectioned hoop with a oval section projecting from one side. There is a circular hole, c.7mm at its widest point, through the centre of the oval section. The circular hole is faceted on both faces, suggesting that a moveable component was attached here originally. The cross-section of the hoop would also be unusual for a finger ring, suggesting a more practical function. A complete cast copper-alloy Medieval strap slide dating to c. AD 1270-1400. The frame is rectangular in cross section, and hexagonal in plan having two edges extending away from vertical arms at a diagonal. The final straight edge a circular pierced hole filled and a flat outer surface which has file marks. The strap slide is a dark green clour. A cast copper alloy looped fitting of early post medieval date, possibly a suspension hanger for a sword belt. The object has a a symmetrical (bow-tie shaped) plate with a waisted midsection and flanking triangular projections, each with a central rivet hole infilled with the remains of iron rivets. The margins of the plate are cusped, with trefoil terminal ends and the whole has a slightly curved side profile. From one side of the mid section projects a circular suspension or attachment loop.

An incomplete copper-alloy strap fitting of probable Medieval date. It is rectangular in shape, made out of a sheet, with a circular hole at one end, and the remains of another hole at the break end. A Medieval cast copper alloy hooked strap fitting comprising a bar mount with an (incomplete) hooked terminal. The bar is D-sectioned with moulded ribs, a pierced convex central boss and two rounded terminals, one of which is drilled for a rivet. The hook possibly once held a pendant loop to attach small items or a purse to the belt. Circa 13th - 14th century.

A Medieval copper alloy oblong strap slide. The frame is rectangularin plan with three edges made of a circular sectioned bar. The final edge is wider (7.4mm wide) and more of a pointed oval in cross section . It is a medium green colour. The frame is 18.8mm long, 14.7mm wide, 7.4mm thick at the top, 2.9mm at the bottom and weighs 3.09 grams. Egan and Pritchard (1991) illustrate a very similar example (p.232, fig 147, No.1248) which was found in a context dating to between c.AD 1350 and 1400. see WILT-14A46C, OXON-FD3638, SWYOR-7E5A64 and IOW-A1103F

A complete copper alloy strap fitting consisting of a (bar) mount and pendent loop of Medieval date (AD 1325 -1400). The mount consists of a narrow strip of cast copper alloy, folded into a narrow U shape and fastened together with a large copper alloy rivet and circular copper alloy rove. The mount is decorated with a separate pinecone shaped mount attached to the strip with the same rivet. The pinecone is positioned on its side.
