A likely flint tester pebble with strike scars dating to the later Mesolithic to Neolithic (c. 8000-3300 BC). The pebble is made from a dark grey flint. Two sides present multiple flake scars and a wide ring of cortex covers the circumferential centre. The pebble liekly functioned as a tester core. A small flint bladelet core of later Neolithic date struck from a mottled grey flint. The core is conical with a single striking platforms which is poorly prepared or defined and a bulbar scar is evident on this platform where the core was removed as a thick flake from its original nodule. A patch of cortex is retained on one side.

Pale grey flint core. A small irregular chunk with scars from multangular flake removal. A creamy patina across all struck surfaces suggests the object has subsequently endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment, and iron-spotting may suggest its incorporation in gravel. As the find-spot is not on chalk the patina may hint that it has been imported. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC Height: 31.4mm, Width: 34mm, Thickness: 22.2mm, Weight: 24.21gms

Flint pebble with cortex, core. A chunk with broad parallel flakes detached by unidirectional working from a flat striking platform. A dense creamy patina across all struck surfaces suggests the object has subsequently endured a period of exposure to a calcareous environment, and iron-spotting may suggest its incorporation in gravel. As the find-spot is not on chalk the patina may hint that it has been imported. Suggested date: Neolithic, 4000-2350 BC Height: 34.3mm, Width: 35.5mm, Thickness: 26.2mm, Weight: 45.09gms

A flint core of probable Neolithic date 4000 BC - 2200 BC. It is a patinated tertiary chunk which is piriform in plan and D shaped in cross-section. It is an irregular core with two striking platforms at right angles to each other. One is at the pointed distal end. The other is the flat ventral face from which the removals forming the rounded proximal end have been worked. The core produced flakes. There is later damage on the ventral face where accidental removals have revealed an iron rich orange colour under the patinated white surface. The core is 58.3mm long, 47.4mm wide…

A small flint fragment of a tabular core of mesolithic or possibly later date, used to produce fine bladelets. The fragment is irregular but broadly triangular in shape; one side has parallel removal scars but there is no evidence for preparation of a striking platform, this has probably been lost to later breakage along one long edge where there are several areas of weakness from fossil inclusions. The other long edge retains a pale buff coloured cortex.

A fragment of a flint core of the Mesolithic/early Neolithic period dating to 10,000-3,500 BC. It has a conical shape and has been manufactured from a dark grey flint; it has one oval striking platform from which run long, narrow and parallel blade removal scars down the observe face. The reverse face has a bulb of percussion, hence the item is a fragment of a larger original core. No cortex is retained. Height: 43.70mm Width at widest part or striking platform: 23.31mm Max diameter: 56.26mm Weight: 36.34g

Small bifacial core, of impressively patinated black flint with lighter grey inclusions, now light misty grey to one face; the other is mottled brown, both faces have a few rusty iron scrapes. All flake scars are small, but broad and appear to be hard hammer struck. Neolithic to Bronze Age, 4,000 to 700 BC.

Possible core rejuvenation flake. At the top of the dorsal is remnants of a prepared platform with multiple short, direct flaking scars. The rest of the surface is covered in a long, thin flaking scars that have been removed from one angle, the ventral side has a large bulb of percussion. The flint has a dark grey colour with 20% cortex at the base.

Opaque pale grey flint possible core fragment. A thin sub-rectangular flake with broad and narrow long flakes removed by unidirectional working from a flat platform. Both the long edges may be serrated, though this is more easily felt than observed; along one long side the putative serration may be accompanied by very short abrupt retouch executed from the dorsal aspect. The ventral surface is flat. If not a core, this might alternatively be a plano-convex knife, perhaps unfinished.
