Spindle whorl; cast lead spindle whorl of uncertain date. Biconical whorl with a large, circular hole through the centre. Decorated on one face with moulded decoration of lines and pellets. There are four curved lines, meeting at the ends and touching the central hole at the apex of the curve, thus forming a four-pointed star around the hole. There is a single large pellet in each arm of the star and a further large pellet outside the star, at the centre of each curved line. The whole has a thick, even, cream-white patina over its surface.

Spindle whorl; cast lead spindle whorl of uncertain date. Biconical whorl with large, circular hole through the centre. Decorated on both faces with moulded decoration of lines and pellets. The lines are in ‘zig-zag’ style, forming a four-pointed star around the central hole and there is a single pellet within each arm of the star. One face also has pellets in each angle of the exterior of the star but these are missing on the other face. The whole has a thick, even, cream-brown patina over its surface.
