A complete, lead probable shuttle for weaving, of unknown date. It seems only roughly formed, not unlike an elongated bobbin. It is broadly oval with pointed, but not sharp, ends, and within the centre is an area which is deeply grooved to create a waisted area around which a weft thread could be attached and carried through the warp on a simple loom.

Bone weaving shuttle, oval with pointed ends, constructed from one piece of bone with a small interior bridge remaining between the two flat sides. The exterior is highly polished and some loss has occurred of the edges each side. There is a small (c. 2mm diameter) circular perforation in the side of the interior section to take the thread.
