An incomplete lead hooked tag of Early Medieval date. It consists of a circular boss with two pierced attachment loops, the hook is missing, with iron corrosion present around a circular hole in the disc. Decoration comprises a prominent boss in the centre of three sets of double-line in counter-relief. Hooked tags manufactured from lead are very uncommon, and it is possible it is a mould rather than a finished tag. Similar examples can be found on PAS (see NMS-412B7B). An incomplete Early Medieval copper-alloy hooked tag dating to circa AD 750-1065. Broadly circular in plan, it is comprised of a single thin sheet and is worn and corroded. Extending from the bottom is the stub of the hook, which tapers into a point curling back on itself.  Two parallel circular sewing holes are located at the top. A complete copper alloy hooked tag with a triangular plate that tapes to an integral rearwards facing hook. There is an attachment hole in each of the top corners separated from each other by a U-shaped notch on the top edge. The plate is undecorated and narrows to the hook, where small a transverse double recessed line with small flanged side knops above, mark the division between the hook and the plate.

Copper alloy possible hooked tag. Small cast tapered D-section shank, broken at its narrower end near the site of a curve, and expanded to triangular form at the other end. This now appears to resemble a crowned King’s head with brow and nose, as kindly observed by the finder, though a spiky crown may in part be formed by two juxtaposed drilled attachment holes across which the object appears to have broken.
