A lead Early Medieval spindle whorl, dating from about AD 500 - 850. It is of Walton Rogers form A1. The spindle whorl is sub-conical in form, with one flat face and one face with one rounded and one angled side.  The measurements are; diameter 26.0mm, thickness 13.8mm, and weight 45.29g.  The central hole has a diameter of 8.5mm. Form A1 whorls are dated by Walton Rogers to AD 500 - 1000. Those with a central perforation of 6-9mm are more likely to be early to mid Saxon, AD 500 - 850.

A cast lead spindle whorl of Walton Rogers form B1 dating from the Early Medieval to medieval period, about AD 850 - 1200. The whorl has two flat faces and a large central aperture of 11.6mm. The measurements are; diameter 27.6mm, thickness 7.3mm, and weight 31.62g. The object is undecorated and has a light grey patina. Similar examples can the found on the database see SWYOR-B413FF. Walton Rogers dates form B1 from AD 700 in York to 1200. A large central perforation makes a date from AD 850 onwards more likely.

A small, cast lead spindle whorl of Walton Rogers formB1, probably dating from the Early Medieval period, about AD 700 - 850. It is discoid in form, flat at the base, and with vertical sides rising to a flat upper surface. There are no markings. There is a central, circular perforation with an internal diameter of  6.4mm. The measurements are; diameter 20.0mm, thickness 5.4mm, and weight 12.0g.   Similar examples can be found on the data base see SWYOR-B6A64D.

A silver Early Medieval coin; a sceat of Alchred (or Alhred) of Northumbria dating from AD 765 - 774.  Reverse depicts a fantastic quadruped facing right with a cross below. Mint of Northumbria. A fragment of an Early Medieval cast copper alloy openwork strap end, dating from AD 875 - 1100. It can be classified as Thomas' Class E. Only part of the middle survives. The strap end would have been tongue shaped (rectangular, probably with a rounded closed end). An incomplete copper alloy possible Early Medieval to Medieval stirrup terminal dating from AD 1000 - 1200. Only the projecting loop and a small part of the terminal survives. A loop extends from the outer face. It is 5.9mm wide and oval in cross-section. The rest of the object is broadly triangular and has a conccave face opposite the loop. A fragment probably from an Early Medieval sleeve clasp (wrist clasp), probably of Hines form B18 dating from AD 450 - 570. The surviving part is a bar is sub square cross-section, decorated with transverse grooves and ridges. It is cast in one with a plate which is moulded into roundels or annulets which have a concave centre. An unidentified, copper alloy artefact, possibly an incomplete girdle hanger of Early Medieval date, AD 400 - 600. It is a bar of copper alloy, of rectangular cross-section at one end, and tapering to a circular sectioned rod and then a point at the other end. The rectangular part of the bar is decorated with stamped marks on all four sides. These are crescents in a row along each face. The wide end is broken, either across a circular hole or across a point of bifurcation. It is is 77.1mm long, 5.6mm wide and 3.1mm thick. It weighs 7.8g. It has a light green patina.
