A silver plated contemporary copy of a denarius of Nero (AD 54-68), dating to AD 54 (Reece Period 3). Wreath reverse type. Copying mint of Rome. The reverse is not the correct type for this coin which should be an oak leaf wreath enclosing the letters EXSC, with an inscription around the outside. This coin instead has a wreath enclosing a letter A[...] with a ring of pellets around the outside and no outer inscription. It is similar to some reverses of Claudius.
