An incomplete and pierced copper alloy jetton dating to the post-medieval period. 'Lion of St Mark' type issued by an uncertain Nuremberg master between AD 1550-1700. Nonsensical legends. The jetton is missing approximately one third of its whole and has also been pierced with a square tipped implement through the centre, from the obverse (orb side) to the reverse (lion side).
