An incomplete, copper alloy pin, probaby a Roman dress pin. This particular pin is made of a single shank of circular section, broen at one end and tapering at the other. The pin is bent to a right angle, allowing it to be fastened securely to the fabric.

Possible Roman copper alloy pin head. The object is skittle-shaped, with a long slender neck terminating in an apparent break. Faint striations are visible running the length of the object. The object is in fair condition, is 32mm long, 6mm in diameter and weighs 3g.

Cast copper alloy hair pin with projecting ring head (Cool Group 17, Beaded and corrugated derivative). The shank is short and tapering and has a sub circular cross section. The top of the shank bends at a sharp 90 degrees for a short distance (5.82 mm). At the end of this is attached the ring element. It is set at a right angles to the shorter section of the shaft, projecting upwards in the same plane as the main part of the shank.
