One original terminus remains on the outside of …

Probable fragment of a Roman copper-alloy bracelet. It is plano-convex in cross-section and tapers uniformly in width and thickness from one end to the other. When viewed from the side it exhibits a gentle curve (flat face on the inside), interrupted by a sharper, perhaps unintentional bend. It is unclear whether both or just one end is a break, as they are both are well worn. However, it seems likely that the narrower end is an original terminal, or very close to it since it tapers (in thickness) to a fine point. It is decorated on the convex (outside) face with a pair of transv…

Fragment of a Roman copper-alloy bracelet. It consists of a narrow rectangular strip with worn breaks at either end and decorated on one face with a repeating pattern (now quite worn) of moulded or punched circles and transverse bars. There are three circles arranged in series and depicted low relief, each in a separate rectangular counter-relief field. Their diameters are slightly longer than the width of the bracelet, so they are truncated slightly. Each circle contains a smaller concentric circle defined by a circular groove and a central recessed dot. Between each of the rectangul…
