Basal sherd from a samian ware bowl, probably Drag. 37. The mould-cast decorative scheme is zoned being divided into panels by vertical lines of pellets. The motifs used include vine leaves and tendrils together with what appear to be elongated pine cones. The base is of foot-ring type and is now damaged. In the centre of the foot-ring are turning marks and a deep incised line, cut before the slip was applied.

The sherd is a portion of a particularly thick walled vessel (24.3mm), which may be a storage vessel. The sherd has been made from pottery which was probably shaped on a wheel. Due to its soft fabric the sherd is possibly Roman. The fabric is quite soft, with a mid grey coloured core, and oxidised orange surfaces. Within the fabric there are occasional voids. The quite frequent inclusions which are a grey coloured grit or grog, there are very fine grained. Also there are more occasional red coloured grog inclusions. The sherd weighs 62.02g.

The sherd is a base sherd of a Samian Ware vessel. On the exterior surface there is a deep foot-ring which is 50.6mm in diameter, measuring the exterior surfaces. Just over half of the foot-ring remains. The interior surface has broken edges. In the centre there is a makers stamp which reads L.SNI.S. The inscription cuts across a low-relief circular ring. Samian Ware tends to date to the 1st to 2nd centuries. The sherd weighs 21.79g

The counter is a sub-circular ceramic disc. The fabric is a red/orange colour, which is a deeper red colour beneath the surface. It is quite soft and seems to be coated with sand. The counter maybe of a Roman date, but the fabirc is not immediately recognisable. It weighs 13.83g, and measures 38mm long, 36.5mm wide and 7.7mm thick.

The sherd is a body fragment of an unknown vessel. The sherd is possibly made of Oxford Colour Coat Ware, which looks very similar to Samian ware. The fabric is a mid orange colour, and is micaeous. The surfaces have a dark red colour slip which has striations visible on the larger surfaces, probably due to its application. The decoration on the exterior surface is moulded and consists of a vertical beaded border and a horizontal linear lower border. A rim sherd, probably in late Roman Shelly ware. The fabric has a dark grey coloured core and interior surface and the exterior surface is lighter grey/brown with shell inclusions. In profile, the rim is 'n-' shaped rim and is quite wide, tapers in towards the wall of the vessel. The exterior surface beneath the rim has a slightly curved indentation, which implies the rim may have originally flared outwards at an oblique angle. The date is uncertain, most likely roman to Medieval periods.

A base sherd of a mortarium, possibly Wroxeter Red-slipped ware. The base has a portion of the foot ring remaining, as well as the interior of the vessel. There are two rim sherds from two different mortaria. One rim forms a sub-n shape in profile with now beading (M.2.4), the other has a beaded rim. Both the sherds are slightly abraded. The fabric is Oxfordfordshire White Ware. One sherd is a cream colour throughout, the other has a pink coloured core with cream coloured surfaces. Both the sherds can be dated to the Roman period, probably 2nd to late 4th century.
