The bracelet has been made in a black glass typical of early Roman manufacture, but has white-glass swirls applied to the outer surface of the rim. Glass bracelet fragment. D-section band of blue-tinted clear translucent glass with an apical crest of mid blue glass with thin white diagonal strands symmetrically arranged along it. Longitudinal lines appear within the metal, possibly pointing to wound construction around a former. The use of blue glass leaves a broad date range available, as glass beads of this tint accompany pre-Roman and Roman-period native burials in East Yorkshire. The fragment is decorated with a two-millimetre wide rope twist decoration with entwined opaque blue and white glass running down the centre of the outer curvature. It measures 28.6 by 6.8mm and weighs 3.23gm. A fragment from a Roman Glass Bracelet. The translucent brown fragment is convex and sub-rectangular in plan and D-shaped in section. The upper surface has three marvered opaque trails repeated three times. The colours are twisted white and grey, yellow and then white. Some of the trails bend into each other and one is almost completely submersed in the translucent brown glass. The diameter of the complete bracelet would have been around 80mm. The length of the fragment is 30.3mm, the width is 14.0mm, the thickness is 10.0mm and the weight is 7.26g.
