A complete copper-alloy enamelled button and loop fastener of Roman date, c.AD 43-200. Wild Class VIa variant.
The head is formed of a flat rectangular plate. Decoration on this plate consists of red and yellow enamel, set within three parallel square cells with yellow enamel set in the middle cell and red enamel present in the two flanking cells. An integral circular sectioned shank extends at 90 degrees from the underside of the head before splitting in to two arms, and forming a loop. An incomplete Roman cast copper-alloy and enamelled button and loop fastener of Wild Class III dating c. AD 50-200. The fastener has a teardrop shaped head that is sub-D-shape in cross-section. On the face are two moulded concentric grooves forming a raised edge and domed centre with recessed apex. At the centre of the apex is a small circular recess filled with the remains of white enamel. An incomplete copper-alloy double-headed button and loop fastener of Roman date, c.AD 43-200.
The head is pointed ovate with a central raised circular boss within a deep circumferential recess. The pointed terminal has a slight raised lenticular moulding which tapers into the point.
An integral shank extends down from the reverse of the boss and bends at 90 degrees where it widens into a second head. The orientation of the shank results in the heads being on different plains.

A Roman enamelled copper alloy button and loop fastener of Wild's Class VIa dating to the period c. AD 100 - 200.
The object exhibits a rectangular head measuring 15.4 mm in length, 14 mm in width and 2.87 mm in thickness. The obverse of the head exhibits four semi-circles with traces of decayed enamel that is now a dull brownish-green, the semi-circles border a central lozenge recess with traces of light blue enamel. An incomplete, Roman copper-alloy plate brooch of the Roman period dating to the 3rd to 4th centuries AD.
The brooch is oval in form. It has a raised outer border and a higher inner border that holds a black glass oval conical 'gemstone'. The flat space between the two raised borders is filled with concentric circle stamped decoration.
On the reverse, the remains of the pin and hinge can be seen; the rust-like corrosion on these suggest that they were made of iron. Part of the catch plate can also be seen but the pin is missing.The metal face of the brooch is gilded with most…

Incomplete Roman copper alloy Colchester derivative brooch with rear hook, the spring, the pin, the lower part of the bow and the catchplate missing. The very short wings are decorated with a flute, and on the broad flat bow a median flute is flanked bypairs of grooves. The bow begins to widen before the break. Best described as an oddity. Wingspan 16.5mm. Extant length 20mm. c.43 - c.65.

An incomplete copper-alloy Roman Colchester derivative rear hook bow brooch. It is missing the spring, pin, catchplate and part of the foot due to old breaks. The wings are semi-cylindrical in form decorated on their front faces with transverse moulded grooves. Copper alloy possible finger ring. Cast D-section band, slightly narrowed at one point which, if indeed a finger ring, would be opposite the bezel. The latter, and the rest of the band, is plain. Abraded. The wearing of finger rings was a men’s custom for the Romans, and this band would have to be for a youth or gracile individual if indeed worn on the finger. A cast copper alloy buckle plate of later Roman date (Hawkes and Dunning (1961) type IIB), dating to, c. AD 250 - 400. The plate is rectangular with three rectangular perforations and a rivet hole at each corner. The sides and rear edge have decorative cusped borders. There is a ridge across the front end behind a pierced pin articulation and small bar which retains a copper alloy pin. The integrally cast frame has broken away and been lost.
