A cast copper alloy disc brooch. The brooch is circular with a large central hole. It is possibly that this hole was once the setting for a gem stone or glass/raised feature. The central hole is bordered on the face of the brooch by a knurled band. Between this band and the outer border of the brooch is a band of alternating red and yellow enamelled sqaures. The reverse of the brooch has a fitting for a hinge pin and the remains of the catchplate. 2nd Century. Similar to Hattatt, p345, Fig: 204.
