An incomplete copper alloy pin of Early-Medieval date (AD 700-900). The pin head is globular with four ring and dot decorations around its circumference. These features alternate between the upper and lower aspects of the pin head and have been punched in such a way as to give a flattened appearance which may be mistaken for a multifaceted style head. The full profile of the object however dismisses this possibility. A worn collar is present where the head meets the shaft. The shaft is uniform in diameter and circular in cross-section. This pin has a corroded light green patina.

A complete cast copper alloy barrel shaped weight of Roman/Early Byzantine date (AD 200-450). The weight has integrally cast lettering on its upper end, I B which equates to half a Roman ounce (a semunicia or half unica) weighing 13.6g. Other examples are known to have inlay in the lettering which is absent in this example. The current thinking in terms of dating for such weights places them in the period AD 200-450 (Entwistle 2008. 38-46). A similar example can be seen on the Portable Antiquities Database Unique ID: BH-C5E266.
