A copper-alloy and enamel brooch of Roman date. The brooch is circular but the edges are worn and distorted. The plate is decorated with four singular raised ring and dot motives at the cardinal points. Each circular field is decorated with red enamlel. In the centre of the plate there is a single raised dot. There is blue enamel in the field between the ring and dot motifs. On the back of the plate is a broken catchplate and hinge. The brooch bares similarities to Mackreth, British plate 1.a brooches.
