An incomplete, copper alloy Roman, nail cleaner, with transverse grooves on neck and shoulder AD.43-150. The object comprises the upper part, including suspension loop, of the nail cleaner, it is missing the tip. The loop is broad and oval in shape (11mm) with a much smaller hole pierced through it (3.33mm). Below this is a narrow waist which expands quickly before tapering gently down towards the point of the cleaner. No decoration has survived, other than a linear engraving on the outside of one fragment. Due to its condition it is impossible to determine any more about this object. Total weight: 21.77g.

The base of a Roman black burnished vessel, probably a pedestal beaker, dating 1st-3rd century AD. The object is formed of a dark grey clay with coarse grainy inclusions. The base is circular with one side flat and the other concave. The concave side appears to have been formed by a thumb impression. The clay is a light orange with fine quartz inclusions and mica throughout. It appears to be of the micaceous Lezoux ware tradition.There are traces of a mid red glaze on all surfaces. There are traces of large granular inclusions in the inside surface of the base of the vessel, indicating the object was a mortarium. The object has a conical top with a globular hear, leading to a cylindical section which is constricted in the middle curving to the ends to form collars. On the base is a square recess which would have held an iron attachment to connect the object to a piece of furniture. An incomplete Roman copper alloy bracelet, dating 1st-2nd century AD. The object is formed from a strip of highly leaded copper-alloy. The bracelet, once circular, is now almost flat with an angular bend towards the break. The opposite end to the break tapers to the terminal. Much of the object is covered by a light and mid grey patina, with traces of green corrosion within a patch of damage at the bend. A fragment of a Roman copper alloy Colchester type brooch, dating AD 43-75. The fragment is from the head of the brooch, with part of the bow, cross bar and springs all that remain. The cross bar is broken close to the bow on one side and ~5 mm away from the bow on the other side. Only one coil of the spring remains which passes through a perforation in the head of the bow.
