A fragment from a vessel, probably a jug or a small amphora of Roman date, circa Ad 43-410.  The fragment consists of a small section of rim and body that contains the remains of the handle. The remains of the handle have a width of 42.3 mm. The fabric is a cream colour with frequent inclusions between 1 to 2 mm in size. The fabric is abraded in the internal surface.  The fragment measures 63.2 mm in height, 61.1 mm in width, 19 mm in thickness and weighs 57.4 grams.

A base sherd likely from a Roman mortarium. The main colour is cream/white, which alters at one of the breaks to beige/pink at the core, and the texture is chalky. The outer surface appears dappled with brown. There appears to be moderate inclusions of mica. The most prominent inclusions are dark brown and grey and mostly angular, with some that appear darker and shinier. An incomplete ceramic tile of Roman date (AD 43 - 410) with probable opus signinum concrete attached. Description The tile is rectangular in plan but one corner has been lost with a 45 degree break approximately 140mm long. Concrete is attached to both faces and 120mm of one edge, from which it overhangs by about 31mm. A group of three fragments of ceramic box flue tile of Roman date (c.43-410). Fragment 1: Description: The object is broadly triangular in plan and flat except for one edge where the corner of the box tile survives in part. All other edges are broken and irregular. One side has inscribed stripes 31.3mm wide, each made up of of 6 grooves. The stripes are in a lattice pattern to assist the mortar sticking. It is made from a hard red grey fabric. A fragment of Roman ceramic Verulamium Region Coarse White-slipped ware (VCWS) ring-neck flagon with neck and handle remaining, Hadrianic to Antonine date AD120-190. The fragment consists of the flagon neck with a handle of four ribs and a four rilled rim. The flagon is undecorated aside from the rim, the exterior surface has a thin white slip and the interior is an oxidised red. The fabric is oxidised red with numerous sand inclusions throughout.
