A Lower Palaeolithic handaxe, made from a mottled grey flint now largely patinated a light creamy yellow. The axe measures 130mm x 102mm and is 52mm thick. It is a fine symmetrical biface; approximately 50mm of the tip is missing and the broken end is patinated to a lesser degree than the remainder of the axe, suggesting the break is ancient and probably much later than the original deposition.

A heavily rolled and water-worn lower to middle Palaeolithic flint handaxe, 121.8mm in length and dating to c. 500,000 - 180,000 BC. The tool is potentially either cordate or ovate in form (Wymer Type J or K) and made from a brown flint with heavy iron stained patination from prolonged deposition in terrace gravels. The side profile and cross section are lenticular and the tool is bifacially worked, with removals covering both faces. There is post depositional damage to one edge and the distal tip.

An extremely water worn and rolled flint handaxe of lower Paleolithic date (500,000-180,000 BC). The tool is of Ficron type, 124.5mm in length and of Wymer (1999) Type M. The tool is triangular in shape, with a tapering profile and flat cross section. Despite heavy abrasion, it is clearly bifacially worked using soft hammer flaking. A patch of grey cortex remains on one side and on the butt.

An incomplete flint handaxe of lower Paleolithic date (500,000-180,000 BC). The tool is of elongated ovate form, 140mm in length and most likely of Wymer (1999) Type K. It has a thick (48mm) cross section and is struck from a dark grey-brown flint, with light brown to buff-coloured patination typical of deposition in glacial outwash sand and gravel terrace deposits in southern England. The tool is bifacially worked with soft hammer flaking; recent and unpatinated post-depositional damage is evident from the broken off tip and a potlid fracture on one …

A flint handaxe of lower Paleolithic date (500,000-180,000 BC). The tool is of Ficron type, 112.2mm in length and of Wymer (1999) Type M. The tool is bifacially worked from dark brown flint using soft hammer flaking. There is a small area of cortex remaining on the butt end and the distal tip has broken away, probably after deposition. The handaxe has a slightly lopsided lenticular cross section. The surface has a dark brown to orange patination typical of prolonged deposition in iron-rich Thames valley gravel terrace deposits.

A large flint blade, 84.5mm in length struck from a light brown flint with a thin triangular section. The flint has a heavily worn and polished patina with dark brown staining from prolonged exposure to a riverine environment and flowing water. The long edges are roughly parallel and have battering damage along their full length, from usage, post depositional fluvial erosion or both. The reverse has a low bulbar scar. Possibly a blade or "bruised" blade tool of later Upper Paleolithic date.
