A fragment of a broken blade of uncertain prehistoric date (Late (Upper) Palaeolithic to Neolithic, c. 40,000-2,500 BC). The blade is made on a mottled dark orange-brown flint. It is broadly triangular in profile although it is more flat at the proximal end. There are three broad removals on the dorsal surface, with some modern damage / edging. The blade is broken towards the distal end.

Distal end of a secondary, soft hammer struck blade, of white patinated flint, recently broken transversely by a bending fracture, now showing the original black flint colour within. Old, patinated use wear to the lateral edge without cortex. Possibly a broken long blade from the Late (Final) Upper Palaeolithic. 12,000 to 10,000 BC.

Proximal end of a Late (Final) Upper Palaeolithic long blade:- of pale patinated banded and mottled flint, with the dorsal face stained a little more pale brown than the ventral face. The thin platform is without facets and is plain, the edge of the platform is faintly abraded, the striations of which are across the platform from edge to edge. The blade is broken transversely in antiquity, the break is patinated similarly to the rest of the flint. The dorsal face carries three main previous flake scars, struck from the same direction as the blade itself, there is, just above the break…

Palaeolithic (Upper) to Neolithic (Later) unretouched blade, 51mm long, 20mm wide, 7mm thick and 8.4g in weight. Made on a flint/chert that has turned a multitude of coulours through patination, including lght browns, blues and greys. The distal end still retains its original cortex as do both lateral edges. The central part of the dorsal face exhibits a flaked area of a number of unidirectional scars. Early stages of the creation of a blade core using a cortical nodule of stone presumably from a river.

Palaeolithic (Upper) to Neolithic (Later) unretouched blade, 59mm long, 23mm wide, 12mm thick and 12.7g in weight. Made on a flint/chert that has turned a multitude of coulours through patination, including lght browns, blues and greys. The distal end still retains its original cortex and the right lateral edge is a large flake scar produced by an orthogonal removal. The centre of the dorsal face possesses two small parallel ridges created by unidiretional flaking.

Palaeolithic (Upper) to Neolithic (Later) unretouched blade, 47mm long, 10mm wide, 6mm thick and 2.5g in weight. Made on a light semi-translucent caramel brown flint that has turned an opaque light bluish grey through patination. The blade has been struck from a unidirectional blade core as evidence by a number of blade-like removals on the dorsal face. The blade has not been modified, although the proximal end has been prepared to a similar style as the en eperon style of the Upper Palaeolithic.

The dorsal face displays extensive unidirectional flake scars, although the distal end and some of the left lateral edge has retained some cortex. The right lateral edge has been irregularly retouched.
