A fragment from a Middle to Late Bronze Age spearhead. Only part of the blade and midrib survive. The fragment is broadly rectangular in plan having three regular linear breaks running at right angles to the surviving blade edge. This edge is rounded and shows no signs of damage. After c.11.3mm the plate splits to from what would have been a hollow probably circular/oval midrib. One of these plates has been slightly squashed against the other. There is possibly a small incised channel running along the edge of the midrib seen on both surfaces. The fragment is a medium green colour. …

A fragment from a hollow bladed possible spearhead of Middle Bronze Age date. The fragment comes from the body of a bladed implement which has been truncated by two transverse breaks. it narrows from one break (c22.0mm wide, 6.9mm thick) to 16.4mm wide and 5.9mm thick. The fragment is hollow bodied and would have been a lozenge shape in cross section but has been slightly flattened on one wide surface. The blade edges extend slightly beyond the hollow body and are ragged and worn. The blade has a subtle midrib on each wide face below which are steps marked by grooves whose lines conve…

A fragment of a cast copper-alloy axe of Later Bronze Age date (c.1600-800 cal BC) most likely a palstave fragment.  The fragment is the blade end of the axehead with a worn and patinated transverse break cutting across its body.  There is no trace of a socket at this broken end. Beyond the break the axe widens in smooth concave curves to the blade edge which is a deep crescent shape. The blade is slightly more worn and bevelled on one surface than the other suggesting it may have been sharpened at one point. The cross section of the axe at the break is rectan…

The hilt of the blade is trapezoidal in plan and mostly flat in cross section. It has a slightly convex butt that would have been c.55mm wide. From this point it widens to 66.7mm wide before narrowing quickly in smooth concave arcs to the blade. It then narrows more gradually down its remaining le…
