A possible coarse flint denticulate/scraper hybrid tool likely dating to the late Bronze Age or Iron age c.1000BC - 0BC . Description: The scraper was produced from a secondary flake, possibly accidentally created. The scraper is semi-circular in plan. Barring the retouch along the curved edge there is little obvious flaking, likely indicating the use of a natural or accidental flake, typical of flint manufacture after the middle Bronze Age. The curved edge has short scaled semi-abrupt retouch producing a scraping edge. At the top edge is a denticulate removal creating an indent w…

A possible flint denticulate of uncertain date, probably Late Bronze to early Iron age date, but a late mesolithic or early Paleothic date cannot be discounted. Description: The denticulate is an irregularly quadrilateral in plan with a wider lower face and slopping sides creating a 'pillow shape'. The tool is formed from a natural flake or accidental removal. It has blunted sides formed by invasive scaled abrupt retouch down one side and then irregular blunting on the other. The distal end has a limited denticulate retouch along it. The flint is very dark grey mottled to black. Th…

A possible denticulate flint blade of Late Bronze Age early or Iron Age date c. 1000BC -AD 1. Description: The object is formed from a relatively thick (for its size) irregularly shaped flake. The flake has short irregular scaled abrupt retouch along its entire edge which forms a slight nub on the right edge of the ventral side. The retouch varies in direction depending on edge. The conchoidal fracturing is very clear but is somewhat obscured by the rippling colour in the matrix of the flint. The bulb of percussion has a substantial bulb scarring. The flint is dark grey-brown becom…

A probable later Bronze Age / early Iron age denticulate, c.1000-0BC. Description: The denticulate is irregularly shaped and formed from a utilised secondary flake, or early date to the final tool. The flake's later reuse is clear by the fact the majority of the flint surface is heavily patinated, while retouch and some flaking has removed the patination. The main shaping flaking of the flint is very subtle and produced by soft hammer technology. The bulb of percussion has been removed and the initial conchoidal fracturing is unclear. The retouch covers 3 sides and is short steep a…

The edge is irregularly formed but save for a small arch with some steeply retouched notches. All the flaking is hard hammer and rough. The conchoidal ripples and bulb of percussion on the ventral face are clearly defiend. The flin is dark brown colour. Meaurements: 30.07mm long, 16.15mm wide, 6.35mm thick and 2.64g in weight.
