A fragment of gold, likely hack gold from a penannular bracelet of Bronze Age date, possibly c.1100-850 BC. Description: The object is broadly 'axe-shaped' with a sub-circular terminal that tapers to a flat rectangular cross section. This was likely achieved by cutting and hammering. The tapered end has been cut, indicated by a bright rugged cut. A fragment of gold ribbon of Bronze Age date (c.2350-800BC) Description: The fragment comprises a strip of sheet gold with transverse breaks at either end. One of these is a 'clean' cut so that the profile of the cross-section of the sheet is clearly visible, while the other is squashed and jagged. On one side of the sheet, a single deep score has been inflicted onto the gold. This runs down the centre, from one end to the other, suggesting this was done prior to the cutting. A complete late Bronze Age gold plated penannular ring, dating to 1150 - 800BC. The ring is circular in shape and in cross section, with two flat terminals. Between the terminals is copper alloy corrosion, suggesting that the main body of the ring is copper alloy plated with gold. An incomplete cast gold bracelet of Bronze Age date (1300-1100 BC). Description: The object is a loosely twisted, square-section rod. At one end the rod finishes at a cut, while at the other its finishes in a tapered tip. Here, the rod straightens slightly but appears wavy, suggesting it has been untwisted. Three fragments of an incomplete folded gold strip or ribbon dating to the Bronze Age (c. 2200 - 800 BC). Description: The ribbon is in three separate fragments, each of which are decorated on one side with four regular, longitudinal, parallel grooves whilst the other side is plain. The very tips of the ends of each fragment fold over slightly and the two smaller parts fit the two ends of the larger, so it can be deduced that these snapped off through being bent. A gold, finger ingot of uncertain date, probably prehistoric. Description: The ingot is sub-rectangular in plan, with rounded ends. It has a shallow D-shaped cross-section with slight dishing along this face. One end also has dip and pellet in likely indicating the ingate or pouring point of the molten metal into the mould for the ingot.
