A large lump of copper, it's rounded appearence suggests it has cooled from molton metal in a crucible or other mould. One side is almost flat, the top is domed and the sides rounded, it may originally have been oval as it appears to have been cut on one face, the cut is now worn. It may have been made on site or have been carried here for metal working. A cast copper alloy awl or tracer dating to the Bronze Age. The centre, which is the thickest part is square in section. From the centre to the blunt end the awl narrows and becomes circular in section. In the other direction from the centre, the awl narrows to a chisel shape with a flat rounded end. The awl is 61.5mm long, 6.1mm wide, 5.9mm thick and weighs 12g.

A Bronze age copper alloy Awl dating to 2150-800 BC. The awl is linear with a circular section in the centre. At one end the awl narrows to a rounded tip, while the other is flattened to rectangular cross section, terminating in a point. The implement is cast in one piece and is 45.9mm long, 7.5mm wide, 6.2mm thick and weighs 7.9grams. For a similar example see HAMP-FA35B4.

A possible Bronze age cast copper alloy fragment of an Awl. The awl is linear in plan, narrowing to a point at one end. The other end has been broken by an old break. The edged of the awl are raised and appear to have been bent over in the centre of the awl, possibly at the same time that the awl was broken. The fragment is 40.6mm long, 7.1mm wide, 3.8mm thick and weighs 3.9 grams.

It is decorated with a cricumferential ridge at the mid pint and a slight lip around the opening on eache side. It measures 25.2mm in diameter and is 5.5mm thick.It's width is 19mm and the internal hole has a diameter of 15mm. It weighs 20g.

A cast copper alloy bead of unknown date. The bead is irregular discoidal in shape. The central hole is irregular and irregularly placed, it measures 7.1mm. The bead is very worn, but complete. Simple copper alloy beads of this type are hear to date outside of excavated contexts as they are used from the Iron Age through to the Post Medieval period. `6.5mm in external diameter, 10.9mm in width and weighs 9.32g.

A copper-alloy fragment from an early Roman bow/fibula type brooch.Only the lower part of the bow and the foot survive. The bow is parallel-sided and of triangular cross section. The catchplate has a single irregular perforation, a rolled outer side and adjacent groove. 36.5mm long, 12.1mm wide, 6.1mm thick and weighs 5.76 grams.

A Middle Bronze Age midribbed shield pattern palstave axe, cast in bronze. It is 141.6mm in length. The blade is 42.1mm from tip to tip and is 50.4mm in length. The palstave has a narrow bladewith a sub circular indentation below the stop. The cutting edge and tips are all badly worn and corroded. The tips proper have almost certainly been removed due to this wear. The butt end of the axe is roughly rectangular in section with prominent flanges on either face. The butt end is otherwise undecorated. Casting lines can still be seen on both flange sides.

A cast copper-alloy bead of uncertain date. It is biconical in form with a circular perforation in the centre, 6.4mm in diameter. The bead appears to have been cast in a two piece mould as there is a casting ridge running round that outer edge. It measures 15.36mm in external diameter, 5.9mm in thickness, and weighs 5.15g. It is difficult to date copper alloy beads of this type out of context as they were in use from the Bronze Age though to the Early-Medieval period.

Probable casting sprue; the remains of copper-alloy casting process. The sprue is the tunnel through which molten metal is brought into the mould. The main body is roughly cylindrical in shape, 27mm in diameter at one end and tapering to 12.2mm in diameter at the other end. Length of 77.4mm and width of 30.0mm. There is a casting ridge on either side. A protusion is found along the middle point on one side. The protusion is 18.5mm in length, 18.2mm wide, flat one one side and rounded on the other.Weight of 268.00g

A Bronze Age cast copper alloy Socketed Axehead dating from 1000-800 BC. The axe has a square mouth with two mouth moldings around the outside. The sub rectangular loop prtrudes from the second, less pronounced moulding; it is 6.9mm wide at its widest with a minimum of 4.7mm. The blade is parallel for most of its length before expanding close to the complete cutting edge to a width of 29.5mm. The blade width is 22.4mm. Description Copper alloy butt and lower blade fragment of a dirk or rapier that fits with fragments Nos. 2, 3 & 4. The blade has a lenticular cross-section and clear central ridge that slightly expands towards the butt. The edges of the blade are chipped and eroded. The broken end is intentionally bent in one direction. It is not possible to assess the age of the break as it is obscured by a white substance, possibly modern adhesive. It is plain, with no obvious forms of decoration. The awl is in fair condition, and is corroded. This is likely to date to 2500-700 BC. It is 31.98 mm L x 5.01 mm W x 5.27 mm TH. It weighs 2.73 g.
