Lead alloy metalworking debris. A fragment comprising a conical part whose flat ovoid face indicates it has cooled while inverted and a narrower tapered angled ingate formerly leading into a small mould. This appears to indicate the casting of a small object. A light grey colour suggests the presence of lead or tin in the metal mix. Suggested date: Unknown, Bronze Age to Post-Medieval, 43-1800. A roughly oval lead Medieval or Post-Medieval pot mend. The larger surface measures 26.41mm in length, 25.56mm in width and the smaller surface measures 21.65mm in length and 18.41mm in width. This pot mend measures 10.06mm in thickness and 25.53g in weight. There is a similar example recorded on the PAS database (SF-2C2C43).
