A complete, copper alloy, chisel, possibly Bronze Age - Medieval in date, 1500BC - AD.1500. The object has a cast chisel with a flat bladed terminal that widens towards the middle of the piece before tapering down to a sharp point at the opposite end. There is no decoration on the object and it has an even, green, patina. Small awls and tools of this type were used for an extensive period of time, as such dating the object more accurately is difficult. Measuements :- Length 51.21mm , Width at middle 5.15mm , Weight 5.9g

A complete copper alloy awl or chisel of uncertain late Bronze Age to post-medieval date. It is rectangular in cross-section, tapering at one end to a chisel-like straight edge at one end. A fine, shiny green patina survives in places. Awls are difficult to date as there appears to have been little typological change from the Bronze Age to post-medieval periods, however, most copper-alloy examples probably date to the late Bronze Age. An incomplete and very corroded cast copper-alloy awl or similar tool dating from the Middle Bronze Age to Roman periods, c. 1500 BC-AD 410. The tool consists a circular-sectioned rod with a thickened midsection, tapering to an originally sharp point at each end. Preserved in rather poor condition with a patchy greenish patina, it measures 45.59mm in length, 4.9mm thick at its midpoint, and weighs 3.46g.
