An incomplete cast copper alloy and iron probable steelyard weight of Roman date (C.43-410). Description: The object is flattened spherical or bi-conical in plan with a circular cross section. At the apex, the object narrows to form a neck and then expands into a circular, flattened collar. Iron corrosion around the neck indicated the presence of a now missing attachment. The rest of the object has a medium green patina. It is not clear whether the shape of this portion was caused by damage or design. The two portions meet at the centre forming a circular circumferential ridge.
