A circular token of cast lead, decorated on one side with geometric, high relief deign. The design is in the form of a rectalinear cross, with each arm divided into two 'forks', thus forming an 8-pointed star. The reverse is unornamented. This type of artefact could be used as a gaming piece or a token or weight. Precise dating is confounded by their continued use and conservative form throughout the medieval and early postmedieval periods. They feature are a wide variety of decorative motifs, but most cannot be tightly dated or provenanced.
