A fragment of what may be a medieval copper alloy jetton or token of an uncertain type.  One face has a number of fleur-de-lys within a dotted border.  The other face has a barred cross with numerous small raised dots between the arms.  The object is in fair condition, is 19mm in diameter and weighs 0.68g.

An incomplete copper-alloy token or jetton of medieval date (c.AD 1350-1425) An average 1.6mm strip is missing around the diameter of one quarter of the token. The face is decorated with beaded incisions in the shape of a flared cross, bordered by beaded incisions around the circumference of the token. The reverse is undecorated. The object has a dark brown patina with lighter brown areas where the token has corroded. Geometric type token (Mitchiner and Skinner, 1984, 145). A complete struck copper alloy uniface coin weight for the Salut d'or of Henry VI of France (1422 - 1453) first issued in 1423. The weight is square but with a design struck so that it would be positioned to be a lozenge shape. It is rectangular in cross section. An incomplete copper alloy uniface token, probably Medieval or post Medieval, dating to c AD 1200 to 1800. The token is circular, with a casting sprue extending from the edge of the flan and a central sub-rectangular perforation. The token is segmented by seven radiating lines, each tapering and terminating in a large pellet. Each segment contains a moulded feature, with alternating pellets and fleurs. Diameter: 22.8mm. Thickness: 1.6mm. Weight: 3.26g.

One side is partially legible and reads []DI TRICY[]//VE*. The retained portion of the motif depicts 1/ (fraction) most probably depicting the denomination of the token i.e "½ penny". A copper alloy possible token of uncertain date. A thin and delicate flan, perhaps a token, the object is extremely worn and corroded on both sides. There is no detail or decoration on either side.It measures 19.79mm in diameter, has a thickness of 1.9mm and weighs 2.6g. Due to the lack of diagnostic features, it is not possible to date the object with any accuracy within the Roman to post medieval period. There are similar oblects to be found on the database at BERK-FCB46A and NLM-7A5323.

A copper alloy token of late medieval date. Obverse: OR[]; crowned bust left with bi-foliate crown. Reverse: [.ON]; long cross with a letter B in the centre and a single pellet in each corner. Comparison can be made with an Edward IV penny of Bishop Booth of Durham which has a B in the centre of the reverse. This may date the token to the mid 1460s onwards.
