Incomplete Late Medieval-Post medieval wrought iron spear head. Small rounded lozenge shaped point which tapers sharply to the short socket, there are long parallel projecting strips (Langets) that are broken at varying lengths, the longest still retaining a small nail used to secure the point in place. There is concretion on the point and around the socket, the surface of the object is black in colour and one side of the point has some corrosion pitting. The point itself is quite blunt and in it's present state would not have been particularly effective as a weapon, there is little s…

An incomplete Medieval iron spearhead dating to the 14th-15th centuries. This is a socketed spearhead with a triangular-shaped blade. There is a slight midrib extending down the midline of the blade before the bevelled cutting edges. The socket has been formed by hammering out the walls and curving them around with the edges overlapping. There is a single rivet still in situ to secure the shaft to the spearhead. The iron is in good condition with little corrosion.
Dimensions: length: 79.50mm; width: 26.35mm; diameter: 37.24mm; weight: 40.51g.

A Medieval iron socketed spear head (14th – 15th century). The spear head is narrow with a lozenge-shaped section. The socket is broad with one nail hole with nail still present and possibly a second nail hole, but corrosion is obscuring the detail. There is an oval section of the socket and part of the socket edge missing. Some wood is preserved within the socket. Geoff Egan (PAS Finds Advisor) observes that the form of the spear head suggests it is aggressive rather than ceremonial.
Dimensions: diameter of socket: 27.30mm; length: 174.40mm; width: 16.71mm; thickness: 10.58m…

Iron spearhear blade, which appears to be unfinished, with a tang rather than a socket. The blade has a ridge down the centre, but the tip is missing, and most of the tang. This item is very heavily water worn. The blade flares out to the top were the edges are rounded. Date is unclear possibly medieval.
