Probable Roman (mid 1st to 3rd century) mount: the copper alloy mount is incomplete or fragmentary. The body of the mount is an oval shape with a truncated and broken terminal, and at the opposite edge there is a integral sub-rectangular plate. An incomplete cast copper alloy and enamel mount of Roman date, dating to c. AD 80-250.
This consists of a flat plate which takes the shape of a sideways H. The horizontal sections are roughly trilobate at both ends, and each have large rectangular cells filled with enamel. Description: Fragment of a small gilded silver flat openwork mount, probably Roman in date, perhaps a rectangular fitting for belt or strap. It is sharply rectangular in cross-section, with parallel, straight sides and both ends broken. Two triangular apertures are present, along with one crescentic, and part of another. The reserved bars have a scrolly appearance, ending in roundels. No means of attachment has survived. A complete, cast copper-alloy military harness mount. The mount is square with a median rib. This rib is flanked on both sides by a convex panel. The sides of the mount form a narrow ledge. On the recessed reverse is an integral rivet with a disc head.
This mount belongs to Nicolay's (2007), Type B6, pl. 73, no. 142.1.
A parallel from the same parish is recorded as LIN-A9C66E. Suggested date: c.AD 120 - 300.

Roman copper-alloy mount with integral rivet. The head is conical and undecorated, measuring 16mm in diameter. On the reverse an integral rivet projects from the centre. Its circular-section shaft is 4.6mm in minimum diameter and ends in a large integrally cast disc 12mm in diameter. The object is 11mm in total height. It has a pale green surface and weighs 4.8g.

Only the circular plate survives and the reverse is plain with no evidence for an attachment.The upper surface of the plate is cast with an outer raised flat topped rim, (1.41mm wide); and an inner raised flat topped border (1.35mm wide); together forming an annular recess 2.76mm wide. A complete copper alloy phallic mount of Roman date (c.AD 43-200).
The object is convex and 'T-shaped' in plan, the phallus itself being triangular in cross-section and its straight sides gradually converging towards the raised, moulded tip. At the other end, the testicles in the form of two lobed knops project at a right angle from either side of the phallus. The reverse is concave, with a single circular stud at the centre.

The mount is broadly T-shaped with a D-shaped section. The straight sides of the shaft taper slightly, gradually converging towards the raised, moulded tip. At the top, the testicles project at right angles from either side of the shaft. In each case an oblique raised ridge separates the rounded moulding from the phallus.

The object is sub-oval with a concave reverse and domed front and is in the form of a human head. Approximately half of the head is lost to an old, worn transverse break.
The front surface is decorated with incised facial features comprising ovate eyes, a raised hairline with repeated grooves denoting the hair proper and a slight raised stub representing the remains of a nose.
