A complete copper-alloy Roman vessel mount dating to the 2nd-3rd Century. It is broadly rectangular and roughly semi-circular in cross section. The mount depicts a female head with stylised features,with a headdress or helmet. At the base of the face there is drapery decorated with incised grooves. A complete copper alloy lunate harness mount dating from the Roman period (AD43-200).
The object is lunate or crescent shaped with the main body in the form of curving folds, tapering from the centre to join at the terminals where there is a swirl inwards at both ends. At the left there appears to be an open (possibly broken?) loop; this terminal is also a little higher. The reverse is concave. There is an attachment stud at the base of the curve with a large almost flat top.
The patina of the metal is of a dark green to grey colouring with some lighter patches.

A Roman case copper-alloy mount, harness fitting or vessel attachment. It consists of an arched rectangular shaped and sectiond bar broken at each end. On the inside edge of the surface are two concentric grooves. Extending from the mid point of the same edge is an integral pelat-shaped plate that is D-shaped in cross-section and has a hollow interiror. The patina across the object is dark grey in colour.

The mount comprises an ovate plate, the edges of which are broken and worn, with a raised, central oval boss, decorated with a deep median groove.
The reverse of the mount is concave behind the boss. Two incomplete circular-sectioned lugs are present to either end of the reverse of the plate.
The metal has a mid-green delaminated patina and is worn. The object is 18.2mm long, 12.7mm wide, 7.1mm thick and weighs 3.5g.

These raised bosses are typically interpreted as stylised vulvae. To the reverse an integral rivet terminating in an expanded disc projects from either end and there is a concave indentation in the centre to the rear of the boss. The surface of the metal is corroded and the breaks are well worn.

A complete copper-alloy mount of Roman date (AD43-410). The mount is leontomorphic, taking the appearance of a lion’s face on the obverse. The object is circular in plan and sub-triangular in section. At the base of the mount are a series of incised lines representing the lion’s mane. A complete copper alloy Mount of Roman date (AD 43-410). The object is pelta shaped with a rectangular cross-section. the outer terminals are rounded and expanded, the central terminal has a flat terminal. The back of the object retains an integral circular rivet.
