A Modern lead cloth seal, most likely dating to the early 20th century, based on the lettering style. At the centre of one face are the letters HRT, topped with a scroll. The legend around the edge reads [...] FT / BERGMANN [...] GEWERK, suggesting a German origin. On the other face is a design of crossed hammers or possibly crossed axes. The edges are heavily chipped and jagged. The seal has a uniform grey patina, with patches of rusty-brown corrosion. It has a thickness of 5.61mm and a diameter of 21.55mm. It weighs 11.96 grams.

A complete lead Cloth Seal of Post-Medieval to Modern date (AD 1700-1950). The seal is composed of two lead discs connected by two tabs, one each side. There is a slot in one edge and a bifurcated slot in the opposite edge, to function as a drawstring bag closure. It is broadly oval in plan. On one side there are some raised letters reading NE/(\ with the remainder illegible.   Length: 18.66mm, Width: 18.05mm, Thickness: 5.74mm, Weight: 7.6g The metal is dark cream/light brown with a predominantly smooth patina.

A two part lead cloth seal of the Norwich Weavers Company, circa late 17th century. The outer face has text across four lines reading WOR/STED / REFOR/MED: the reverse is largely unclear but has a numeral 2, part of a number which indicates the quantity of yards the piece contained (see Egan, (1987), p173 and BH-1A11D7).

A Post Medieval Russian flax bale seal . The lead seal is a thick disc with two horizontal perforations running through the centre from edge to edge to accommodate a cord or wire which would have been used to attach the seal to a bale of flax. An incomplete Post Medieval lead cloth seal dating to c. AD 1500-1700. The cloth seal consists of the remains of two circular discs joined together by a connecting strip, which is now lost, and a rivet that was pushed through the hole in one disc from the other disc and stamped flat.  A Post Medieval lead two disc cloth seal made from two discs of lead held together with a lead strip, dating from AD 1700 - 1900. A central integral rivet from the back of one disc passes through a hole in the other disc and is stamped flat. The seal has the legend R&I in relief on the obverse with the number 829 stamped above it. The imprint of the cloth is visible on the other face. Measurements are; diameter 24.8mm, thickness 2.5mm and weight 7.83g. Compare SUR-51F7A9.

A 17th/18th century lead single disc of a four-disc alnage cloth seal dating to c.1603-1724. Sub-oval with a rectangular connecting strip above. The face depicts a crowned thistle with the numerals 1 - 1/2 to either side (alnage fee). The reverse is plain and the surface displays a light buff colour. Height 17.3mm, width 13mm, thickness 1.1mm, weight 1.2g. The alnage system ended in 1724. Similar examples on this database at: DEV-F01E00, DOR-06A417 and LIN-DE9542 and see Egan (1994), pp.178.

A complete sub-circular two-disc rivet type lead cloth seal, probably post-medieval in date, about AD 1550 - 1800. The discs are connected by a central integral flattened rivet which passes through a hole in the other disc and projects outwards and by a broken connecting loop at one side. Disc one has the number 57 in relief. The rivet projects from the reverse and the face is stamped with a shield, possibly crowned, containing a lion rampant left holding a sword. One side is stamped with a crown with 2 above within a beaded boarder. Crowns are a common motif on cloth seal of the Post-Medieval period.
