A lead cloth seal fragment. It is one disc only, and is stamped with a Tudor rose, with initials C and R on either side, and probably a crown over, all within a circle. This suggests Charles I ( AD 1625-1649). The disc is plain on the underside, and measures 16.96mm in diameter and weighs 1.79g. Examples with 'crown over rose' from the late fifteenth to sixteenth centuries are recorded by Egan (1995, pp26, 163, fig.12, nos 14-16) who notes that the device is also known for seals from other countries.
