A probable incomplete Medieval to Post Medieval lead alloy cloth seal, c.AD 1300-1700.
Description: This is probably one half of a two-part lead seal. It is missing the thin connecting portion of lead that would have held the two faces together. The obverse of this seal has a cross-hatched grid design, superficially similar to the portcullis designs found on some official seals. The reverse has a raised border of uneven width surrounding a central area which is either very uneven or bears the remains of a degraded and now undecipherable design.

A post medieval two disc lead alloy cloth seal of Taunton in Somerset. The obverse has a letter ‘T’ with a barrel (or ‘tun’) placed across the centre. This is a punning device/rebus which makes a visual reference to the name of the town (‘T-tun’ for Taunton). The inscription reading from 7 o’clock is TA[NTON . SA]RGES giving the name of the town and the type of cloth. The reverse appears to have a castle, church or town gate with legend [...]IO[...] around; this likely the name of the serge-maker (possibly IO[HN...]).

A very abraded lead bulla type 'eagle & dolphin' Post Office bag seal dating to c.1690-1708.
Sub-circular and flat, with an oval piercing through the horizontal plane. One face has two oval shields within an elaborate ropework border. The left shield bears an eagle displayed and the right shield a bowed dolphin with two saltires in the divided chief above. The reverse depicts a crown with the word PO[ST] below. The surface displays a grey/buff colour.

The seal is made of two discs thar are pressed and riveted together and joined by a small loop. One disc is incomplete and presents an ornate shield of England with a sun to the right, set within a beaded border. Around the border is an illegible legend. A complete lead alloy Dutch excise duty seal dating to the post medieval period (c.AD 1814-1950).
The seal is made of one complete disc that is riveted to a second which are joined by a flat lead thread. The complete disc is worn and presents a six-pointed star. This face likely presents a series of stars consistent with Type STERREN-999 of Dutch excise seals. The excise number would be below the stars. The opposite face is well worn and no details survive, however it would likely have shown the Dutch coat of arms. The object has a cream / grey patina.

It is a uniface disc bearing a quartered shield with three lis in the lower right quarter and three lions in the quarter above. It may have been part of a four disc or two disc cloth seal. A complete alnage lead or lead alloy cloth seal, now (incomplete) in two pieces, from the post-medieval period, about AD 1702 - 1714.
Three discs of the four disc seal survive (now in two pieces). Two lead discs have been pressed together, one now illegible, and one with a possible portcullis or other cross-hatched design. They have a projecting strip which would have attached to the thirs surviving disc. This is stamped with a left facing female bust of Queen Anne (AD 1702-1714). It is possible to read an inscription on the same side as the bust, possibly [ANNE] DEI GRATIA.
