Cast lead cloth-seal. Circular, folded. Lower tab broken. The obverse surface has a crown over a double-headed eagle, within a plain border. No inscription or initials, but traces of gilding surviving. The reverse has T over M in centre within double border with short bars between. The outer plain border encloses the inscription,' +FIDELIT ON ?OVIERT.' Traces of gilding. (This is likely to be a Hanseatic issue - for cloth intended for export from England. Incomplete lead cloth seal. Only Disc I survives; on the front is a horizontal line with B above and R beneath, and on the reverse are apparently two rivets (rather than the normal one). Textile impressions can be seen around the rivets, but any stamping on them cannot be deciphered. Probably a clothier's or weaver's privy seal.

Small lead ring, 13 mm in diameter, with bar 5 mm long projecting from one side. Both the ring and the projecting bar are D-shaped in cross-section. On the flat face, the ring has an incomplete circular stamp with small letters within a circular border. The other face is convex and apparently unstamped. Probably part of an unused lead cloth seal (Disc 2), although the ring is rather narrow (generally c. 3 mm wide), and it is odd that the process of stamping did not also flatten the ring.

Almost-complete lead cloth seal, 22 mm in diameter. Disc 2 is fragmentary, but a well-made stamp can be seen with a merchant's mark flanked with a possible T to the left and an A to the right. The mark consists of a figure 4 with long stem that runs between the T and the A to end in a lozenge. The lines of the 4 may be continued beyond the left-hand angle to form an oval above the T, and the horizontal line to the right may be extended to form a cross above the A. Disc 1 is more complete, but the only stamp that this has is the incuse initials OP. A clothier's, weaver's or searche…

Large, nearly complete lead cloth seal measuring (without connecting strip) 24 x 26 mm. Disc 2 is broken but mostly complete; it is stamped with a design of two rampant ?lions with their tongues and feet touching, perhaps combatant, with initials (TH?) beneath. All is contained within a beaded border. Disc 1 is apparently unstamped. Although the design looks heraldic, denoting perhaps an official seal, the initials may point instead to a privy seal of a clothier, weaver or searcher. Probably 16th or 17th century.

Complete cloth seal, 18 mm in diameter. Disc 2 is stamped with the facing figure of an angel wearing a dress with elbow-length sleeves and a two-tier pleated skirt, holding an object in either hand. The head and wings are almost invisible. There are hints of a beaded border but no inscription around. Disc 1 is stamped with an incuse R and a possible T or I on its side; these are both at the very edge of the disc. The seal is in good condition. The angel device is usually found cast onto an inner disc of a four-part London alnage (cloth tax) seal, with the shield of the City of Lon…

The item appears to be made of two sub-circular discs which are on top of each other and connected by an integral rectangular ribbon. However on closer inspection the item appears to be cast as one thick disc. On each face a design has been ?cast. One design is two high-relief shields, however the design is indistinguishable. The reverse appears to have two letters 'R' and '?E'
