Medieval to Post Medieval (14th and 18th centuries) cloth seal: The lead cloth seal is fragmentary and is a portion of a disc, which was probably originally part of a four-disc cloth seal. The disc has a broken edge, and is uniface. The design is a central shield with a chevron. The disc has a legend around the edge with a beaded border between the legend and shield. The legend is not illegible and the letters are widely spaced. The surface of the seal is oxidised forming a cream coloured surface. It measures 18.5mm long, 13.08mm wide and 1.59mm thick. A near complete, lead two-disc cloth seal, dating to the reign of George I (AD 1714-1727). The cloth seal is comprised of two circular discs and a connecting strip. The Obverse features the relief-stamped bust of the king, who faces right within a ribbed border, the legend is not visible. The Reverse features a crown surmounted by a lion, again within a ribbed border. There is an 'I' in the left field and '1/2' in the right field, referring to the duty in pence. The seal is in poor condition and has a light grey, brown patina.

Object is complete, circular, lead, cloth seal, likely post-medieval in date.  The object consists of two discs connected by a central stud, both discs are still intact. The obverse feature a central 'Y' which is crowned. The reverse has some pictoral engraving  visible, along with the initials ‘I S’ at approximately 9 o'clock.  The reverse is more severely folded than the obverse. Overall the seal has a like grey and brown patina.

A complete lead cloth seal of post medieval date (c.1400-1724). The object is made up of two circular disks, the upper circular disk has a convex surface and two traingle shaped rivets on its back which pierce the second plate so that they are held together. A lead two disc cloth seal of post medieval date. Only one disc survives intact the squased and flattened rivet surviving on its reverse. The portcullis design is relatively plain and lacking a crown. The cloth seal is an off white colour and 12.5mm in diamater, weighing 2.58 grams. Cloth seals were used to mark cloth for commerical sale in the medieval and post medieval periods. One face is plain and the other has a crowned port cullis within a border circle. There is a border inscription, which is now unclear.

A lead alloy cloth alnage seal. One side is stamped with a Scottish thistle between small letters I and R, within a beaded double border containing a legend COM':W[..]ES[...]. The reverse has the number 31 within a linear border. The thistle and letters IR suggest that this object dates to the reign of James I (1603-1625). This seal relates to the County of Westmorland.
