A complete lead alloy Cloth Seal of Modern date (AD 1800-1900). The object is composed of two sub-circular discs connected by three short rectangular tabs with the two discs folded to meet, the space between the discs, running through the centre from top to bottom, through which twine or thread could be passed. The retained lettering is partially legible on one surface around the circumference reading [??]LA[???]. Length: 19.08mm, Width: 18.35mm, Thickness: 4.86mm, Weight: 7.1g The metal is grey in colour with a predominantly smooth patina.

An incomplete lead bag seal of Modern date AD 1880-1920. The bag seal is a cast disc with a bifurcated slot in opposed edges to function as a drawstring closure. One side of the seal bears a crown motif with WEBBS underneath and a legend TRADE [M]A[R]K / [REGISTE]RED around the circumference. An indiscernible motif below the crowned WEBBS might represent a semi circle with a figure inside and rays shining onto two sub-rectangular objects. An assemblage of six lead bag seals, found close together. Each is comprised of a double disc, folded and stamped, and bearing the device of a bell inside a 'Solomon's seal' frame on one face only. This image comprises an eight pointed star formed by the rotation of two square frames. Superimposed on the bell is the letter B and beneath the design are the words TRADE MARK. Probably modern date, c. AD 1800-1950 Diameter 20 mm, thickness 4.5 mm. Overall weight 30 g (6).

A modern lead bag seal of the Christchurch Meat Company of Canterbury in New Zealand dating to c. post 1889. Round in form being 17.4mm diameter and thickness 2.6mm. The obverse has an inscription around the outside of the seal CHRISTCHUR[CH] MEAT CO and across the face CANTERB[URY] / N[Z] in two lines. The reverse has the initials CMC. The Christchurch Meat Company was formed in 1889 and mainly dealt with refrigerated and frozen sheep and cattle. It also had a large trade in by-products and fertilizers.

A Dutch customs house oval lead cloth seal of modern date. It bears raised decoration on both faces: one face is marked R & A//279' (Regten en Accynsen//control number) and the other face has a crown above a shield bearing a lion rampant facing left, all within a border. The emblem is of the Lesser Arms of the Netherlands, and therefore post 1815. There are grooves on diametrically opposed edges marking the locations of the attachment cords. The dimensions are; length 22.5mm; width 19.7mm; thickness 4.1mm and it weighs 10.8g.

A complete cast lead cloth seal of Modern date (c. 1800-c. 1900). A two disc seal with a rectangular connecting strip. Disc 1: Scratch marks including Roman numeral VI. Disc 2: Broad arrow (on rivet), W ?D below. The object has an even buff patina. 40.7 x 31.7 x 4.9mm. Weight: 20.61g. The broad arrow signifies that the cloth seal was probably used on cloth belonging to the War Department. A similar cloth seal has been recorded from West Clandon Parish, Surrey.
