Post Medieval lead or lead alloy seal, probably an alnage or flax bale seal. One face has been largely lost. The seal was originally decorated on both faces but is now only discernable on one face. The decoration takes the form of a crowned coat of arms containing what appears to be three lions or leopards passant moving left. This may indicate that the seal is of English origin. The style of the crowned coat of arms suggest a date between c1600 and c1800 AD.
The original diameter was 17mm, thickness 4mm, and the weight is 3.94g .

Alnage, or aulnage (from Fr. aune, ell) is the official supervision of the shape and quality of manufactured woollen cloth. In the reign of Edward I an official called an "alnager" was appointed to enforce it. His duty was to measure each piece of cloth, and to affix a stamp to show that it was of the necessary size and quality. …

An incomplete post-Medieval lead alloy two-disc cloth seal (c. 1500-c. 1650).
The seal is formed by two circular discs, one with a hole in the centre and the other with a stud protruding. These discs are joined by an integral connecting strip which is folded in half so the discs over-lay each other, and the stud protrudes through the hole. The seal is then stamped on the discs creating a design on both faces. The design has worn smooth but may have related to the heraldic badge of the city of Augsburg a stylised pine cone.
These seals are from linen warp, cotton weft fabrics t…

Small lead alloy bag or sack seal dating from the later medieval or post-medieval period, that is the 15th-17th century. The seal appears to have been a two part seal, with a circular plate/circle on one side and a conical part on the other, connected by a band of lead. The impression is difficult to read but it is lettering which appears to be gothic, possibly 15th/16th century.

An incomplete button or, more likely, lead-alloy cloth seal, dating to the period AD 1650 to 1705.
Only one disc remains: it is stamped with lettering on the obverse and plain on the reverse. Rather than a button it is more likely that this is one half of a cloth seal. The complete seal would have comprised two flat circular discs, one of which is now missing, joined with a small rectangular connecting strip. The surviving disc carries the relief-stamped legend 'WOR/STED/REFOR/MED', within a stamped circular border. On the second, now missing disc would have probably be number prob…

Post-medieval cast lead-alloy cloth seal fragment, probably from a four-disc seal with three discs broken off and missing, probably dating from c. AD1550-1700. The complete seal would have consisted of four thin discs connected in sequence by narrow, thin strips. The disc at one end of the row has a circular perforation and that at the opposite end an integral spike - this is the one that survives in this instance. The strip of metal between the two central discs is then folded over so that the spike on one end would have passed through the perforation at the other. The disc is decorat…

Lead alloy cloth seal of the Commonwealth dating from AD1657. It is a four-part or four-disc cloth seal with the following imagery: Blank // plain cross on ornate saltire // cockerel on bow-like base, 5 7 to sides // blank.
Rod Blunt (via Stuart Elton), says: "The impression depicting a cock is unlikely to be from an official stamp of the Commonwealth, particularly as it had banned cock-fighting. The presence of a bow below the cock suggests that the device might be a rebus for the name 'Bowcock'. [The reverse can be described as showing...] a plain cross with a foliate ornament …
