A Post-Medieval lead cloth alnage seal, probably dating to c. 1525-1610 but possibly as late as 1724 (see below). It comprises discs 1 and 2 of a two-part seal together. The connecting strip between these has been entirely lost.
Disc-1 is stamped with a depiction of a crowned portcullis with the letter E at the top left corner of the portcullis and the letter R at the top right. This design is surrounded by a raised circular border that meets the crown. Incomplete Post Medieval lead-alloy Somerset alnage cloth seal. Only part of one of the inner pair of four discs survives with part of the joining tab to one side. The other disc in the inner pair, and the outer pair with their peg and hole for attaching the seal to cloth are missing. The surviving disk is stamped with an unclear central design, probably an S or a 5, encircled by the legend 'SO[ME]RSET' within an outer bead border. The piece is 13.1mm across including the tab by 11.0mm wide and 0.8mm thick, it weighs 0.69 grams.

Probably the central part of a lead alnage cloth seal. The disc shaped squashed rivet from a two part seal with part of the design on each face. On one face is an inscrition [....]SVS[...] around letters or numbers, possibly RH or BH. On the other are raised lines that form pat of an unclear design. The piece is 14.4mm by 12.5mm and 2.5mm thick and weighs 2.52g.
Probably part of a 17th alnage seal for cloth, possibly from Sussex.

Post-Medieval lead cloth seal from Rotterdam in The Netherlands, with only the front part remaining. The shield contains the coat of arms of the city, a shield bearing: a pale; on a chief quarterly, four lions passant (arms of Rotterdam: Vert a pale Argent; on a chief Or quarterly four lions passant 1 & 4 Sable 2 & 3 Gules). There are groups of three pellets above, below, and to the sides of the shield ( top and right remaining). Around the shield, outside of a pelleted circle is the inscription ROTTER[DAM]. Post Medieval lead alloy cloth seal, of two disc type, from Augsburg. One disc survives with the integral central rivet which previously held the two together. The edge is broken and torn at one point where the connecting strip has broken away along with the second, ring shaped, disc, the damage is the same patina as the rest of the fragment.
