A circular lead cloth seal fragment of seventeenth to eighteenth century date. It consists of one disc with a fragment of connecting strip, but the second disc is missing due to old beaks. There are traces of decoration on one face, with a pellet border surviving around part of the circumference, and a cluster of pellets forming a daisy motif near the centre. This appears to be above an applied T shape, with a small star to the left. The disc measures 18.58mm in diameter, 1.33mm in thickness, and weighs 3.77g.

A cast lead cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. It comprises two discs that are slightly oval shaped and joined at the top by an integral rectangular connecting strip. Disc 1 has incised/impressed lettering on the front face reading W/L N, and on its back face has an integral rivet that pierces disc 2 and is flattened to give it an oval shaped. Disc 2 appears undecorated, although has suffered from post-depositional wear. The visible face of the flattened rivet appears to have impressed/incised lettering, possibly reading C C[]. A cast lead object, possibly the folded connecting strip from an incomplete lead cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. It is rectangular in form and section, folded in half to form a small loop at one end and terminating at the other in old breaks. On one face (front?) are the remains of an impressed or stamped oval shaped mark of uncertain form. The entire object measures 18.01mm in length, 14mm in width, 6.62mm in thickness, and weighs 10.53g.
This object might plausibly be the folded connecting strip from a Post-Medieval cloth seal similar to examples published from London (see Eg…

An incomplete lead cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. One damaged disc and the integral central rivet survive intact, the remainder of the object now missing due to old breaks. The flattened disc is bent over at top and bottom, and carries stamped marks on the front face. The stamped elements depict the letters I M over a background of fine foliate or floral decoration. The integral rivet on the back face is oval shaped in section with flattened back face and perhaps preserves part of a second disc, most of which is now missing due to old breaks. An incomplete cast lead cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. One very worn disc survives intact, as does part of the integral rivet, the remainder of the object missing due to old breaks. The surviving disc is circular in form and has suffered from post-depositional damage resulting in two sides being folded over. Any decoration that may once have existed on the front face is now illegible. At the cente of the back face is the remains of the heavily damaged integral rivet, which is circular in section and mostly incomplete due to old breaks. An incomplete lead two-disc cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. One disc (disc 1) is preserved, as is the integral rivet, but is very worn and the second disc is incomplete due to old breaks. The front face of disc 1 appears to depict a winged female figure, probably an angel, standing left holding uncertain objects in each hand, possibly a palm branch in her right hand? Any surrounding legend that may once have existed is now illegible, however the number 16 can be seen in the field to her left and possibly a second number to her right, presumably indicating a date/year. A worn lead cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. It is formed from two flat discs of equal size held together by a short integral rectangular connecting strip at the top and an integral central rivet. Disc 1 is extremely worn and if it once carried any stamp or legend these are now entirely illegible. The front face of disc 2 is pierced at its centre by the rivet, which is flattened and sub-oval shaped in form. An incomplete and undecorated lead cloth seal of Post-Medieval date. One flat disc survives intact with a flattened but integrally cast central rivet. The remains of a second, incomplete disc of simuilar diameter are present, but these are currently detatched from the object due to old breaks. It measures 20.02mm in diameter, 4.77mm in thickness, and weighs 5.40g. This cloth seal is of probable 16th-17th century AD date, although the lack of decoration means that a later or even slightly earlier date cannot be ruled out entirely.

A Post-Medieval lead cloth seal. It consists of two discs joined by a connecting strip. The rivet from one disc has been pushed through the hole in the second, and the two are flattened and folded back on one side.
