An incomplete post-medieval lead-alloy cloth seal of early 18th-century date. A disc survives, slightly damaged, from what was probably a four-disc seal from the series featuring a monarch's head. As Egan (1994, 60) states, the relief designs on these alnage seals are characterised by fine detail resulting from well-engraved dies. The disc bears a female bust facing left, that of Queen Anne (AD 1702-1714). The bust is surrounded by a border of short raised transverse lines and the legend ANNA REGINA. Lead three-part cloth seal, perhaps from the low countries. Disk 1 depicts a lion rampant. Disk 2 is almost illegible apart from the letter R. Disk 3 has some motif, which is almost illegible. The diameter of each disk is c. 15.64mm.
