A post-Medieval lead alloy two-disc cloth-seal (c. 1650-c. 1800). Disc 1 bears a raised design: a privy mark with H D at the sides, all within a beaded circle. Disc 2 is plain and has a perforation at the centre for the rivet head. This cloth-seal is grey and in good condition apart for the joining strip which is broken. An incomplete and misshapen post-Medieval lead alloy inner disc from a four-disc cloth seal (c. 1625-c. 1725). Originally the disc would have been circular and there is a slight indication of a joining tab at the base. Although not complete, the front depicts a cast relief design of a winged female (an angel) with arms extended. In the left hand the angel holds a sceptre-like item (from parallels, probably a palm branch) and the right an orb-like item, probably an hour-glass. One disc has a raised design, a merchant's mark: PW ligated with the legend 'DORSET' surrounding. A six-pointed star at either side of P. A complete but damaged post-Medieval lead alloy two part cloth seal (c. 1600-c. 1700). This seal is formed by two discs joined by a rectangular tab. One disc had an integral projecting rivet on the inner side, the other a hole through the centre. (The rivet went through the cloth, through the other seal and was stamped flat to hold the seal to the cloth). The front disc has raised capital letters: SS/BAH. The other disc is plain.
