A lead alloy two-part post medieval cloth seal. One disc has a monogram in the form of a letter S with an I through the centre, surrounded by stars and crescent moons all within a beaded border. The other disc has Roman numerals XXI or IXX. See also SUR-FFC6D4 and PUBLIC-AF3186 (dated 1666).

A two-part lead alloy cloth (linen) seal of post medieval date from the French city of Lille. One side has a letter I with two fleur-de-lys above which likely represents the initial of an official. The other has an inscription in gothic or black letter script which reads ‘Lil / le’. The top of the letters are bifurcated and exaggerated to create arches. The two discs are connected with a small rounded attachment loop.

A post medieval two-part lead cloth seal, probably 18th century. One face depicts the crest of the city of Leeds, with a ram suspended from its midriff within a shield. This is surrounded by a ring of pellets containing an inscription surrounded by an outer ring of pellets. The inscription reads N[]L[ ] & CO. LEEDS. On the other face is inscribed: three parallel horizontal lines. Between the two upper lines is the number '9', and between the middle and lower lines is '29/'. Max diameter: 35mm. Thickness: 3.5mm. Weight: 16g.

A post-medieval probable four-part lead cloth seal, consisting of disc two and three only, and probably dating to c. 1525-1724. Both discs extend from either end of a bent connecting strip, a further flat projection extends from the second: probable portcullis of three uprights with angled ends (or possible black-letter initial) within raised beaded border // the number 6 or 9 within raised beaded border. The cloth seal measures 23.4mm in length, 17.1mm in width/ diameter, 3.3mm in thickness and weighs 4.70g.

A fragment of a post-medieval (c.1650-1700) four-part lead cloth seal, consisting of a square inner part ('disc' two or three) only. A fragment of connecting strip survives projecting from two opposing edges. It has a depiction to one face only, a letter V or perhaps a harp within a rope-like border. It depicts a crowned rose with an eight-pointed star to the left and a sun to the right. The cloth seal is circular in shape, measuring 25.62mm in diameter and is 3.56mm at its thickest. It is incomplete as it is unclear whether it is part of a two or four part seal, though four part seals are more unusual. The cloth seal measures 20.12mm in diameter and weighs 2.74g. One side has the letter "B" next to a crowned possible pair of scissors, all is raised relief; the other side is apparently undecorated. The patina is an off white, with a thin line of dark brown in between the lead.
