Two inner discs from a lead cloth seal, both stamped with shields. One shield has a chevron and has been identified by Geoff Egan as the London Clothworkers' Company, and the other is quartered with a rampant lion in the 2nd quarter (top right), a harp in the 3rd quarter (bottom left), and 3 fleurs-de-lis in the 1st and 4th quarter (bottom right) (a variant of the Stuart royal arms, leaving out anything referring to England). Diameter not including the connecting strip is 13 mm. Geoff Egan has seen this seal and says it dates to the Commonwealth (1649-1660), when the Clothworkers' …

Lead cloth seal of the Norwich Weavers' Company. Disc 1 is stamped with WOR/STED/REFOR/MED (M and E ligatured). The significance of 'reformed' is unknown. Disc 2 is stamped with what are probably numbers - but not the usual 27, as there appears to be a 9 or a 6 in the centre. Issued from 1650 to 1705. C.f. Egan 1994, nos. 87-90.

One inner disc from a four-disc lead alnage seal, showing that tax has been paid on the cloth. Stamped with a crown above large numerals reading 1. 1/2, which would have been the tax rate in pence. Issued at some time between 1660 and 1724. Cf. Egan 1994, 184-5.

Lead cloth seal. Disc 1 is stamped with a rampant lion, probably the 'Belgic' lion of the Netherlands (although the sabre and bundle of arrows that it ought to be holding are off the flan). Disc 2 has a shield with a row of oerhaps six lozenges across the middle (or 'conjoined in fess' in heraldic language). Above the shield are the initials IP. The precise origin of this seal is uncertain; an image has been sent to Geoff Egan at the Museum of London to try to get a better identification. It is evidence for the trade in textiles between East Anglia and the Netherlands in the 16th…

Lead cloth seal, only Disc 1 surviving, stamped with an ornate shield with a broad vertical stripe (a 'pale' in heraldic language), all within a circle. Outside the circle are the remains of a legend - possibly an I and then next to it at the top a cross. Much of the legend is off the flan, as the stamping has been done rather off-centre. This is a foreign seal, but its precise origin is uncertain; an image has been sent to Geoff Egan at the Museum of London to try to get a better identification.

Large lead cloth seal, a privy seal of a clothier, weaver or searcher. Disc 1 is stamped with irregularly set incuse letters or numbers - two 5s or Ss and an I. Disc 2 has an ornate monogram which is now hard to read - it seems to be based on an M or W. It has a rather late, eighteenth-century appearance.
