One complete inner lead disc of a post-medieval four part cloth seal. These seals were cast as plain and then later stamped with the chosen design. This disc is plain on the reverse whilst the front carries the 'Charles II type head' with the inscription OF ENG LAND around the portrait, the border is decorated with a circle of beading. This particular seal probably dates to the reign of James II (1685-1688). This disc has been pierced directly above the portrait and was possibly used as a pendant or label after its initial use as a seal.

Near complete stamped two-part Post-Medieval leaden cloth seal. The reverse possibly carries a crude pine cone design but this is not clear. The front face carries a large 'A' design with an annulet above, below, to the right and presumably also to the left, although the seal 'hinge' has broken at this point. A very similiar design recorded in 'Lead Cloth Seals and Related Items at the British Museum' by Geoff Egan,(Item No.309, p.106; Fig. 309, 9.192) has been attributed to Augsburg in Germany. A nearly complete, stamped lead alloy bale seal. The seal carries a mixture of Cyrillic (Russian) and Latin lettering. These seals are not uncommon finds and research is ongoing into the deciphering of their legends. This particular one is rather worn and difficult to read. It is thought that they were used for flax or linen crop (seeds etc.) or finished linen etc. Basically they give the quality grades and port of export of the goods, along with the names of officials involved in export customs. Cast and stamped lead cloth seal. The seal is of the two disc variety with two flat circular parts folded back to back with a connective joining strip. The front shows raised interlocking initials which are probably R H C and the reverse has E I stamped into it. Cloth seals had multiple uses including to indicate where the cloth was from, the maker's name, the quality of the cloth and sometimes whether the appropriate dues, taxes & levys had been paid. Seals were in use from the 1300s to the 1800s. Based on the style of the lettering this seal is likely to date c.1650-1750.

The remains of a lead seal, probably from a cloth bag/sack. The remains consist two parts of the seal, the obverse having a lined border above the letters (A)R(R)AS, while on the reverse is the remains of a possible W. The seal measures 23.55mm diameter and is 3.76mm thick weighing 4.6gms. It is from Arras in France and dates from AD 1460-1477. A lead cloth seal (weaver's seal?) with its joining loop intact. The letters RET are visible on the obverse - each letter has a crown above it, and a 3 is visible beneath the letters. No decoration or inscription can be seen on the reverse. The cloth seal is 34.48mm long (including the attached loop), 25.98mm diameter, 3.99mm thick and weighs 12.81gms. It dates from the 16th - 17th centuries.

A discoidal lead cloth seal in two parts (the joining loop does not survive). The obverse detail shows the letters OET and the image of a sword with a cross above the blade tip and two six-pointed stars on either side of the blade, all contained within a seven-pointed shield within a concentric ring. On the reverse, a possible '4' and O are all that can be seen of the inscription. This cloth seal is 25.64mm diameter, 3.81mm thick and weighs 7.17gms. It dates to the 17th century.

A lead alloy cloth seal dating from the 17th century. This is part of a four-element seal with only one element surviving. The seal is from Wesel in Germany and would have sealed bales of bombasine cloth. In the centre of the seal are two crowned B's and circumferential around the edge is the inscription [FINN] BOMASIN IE DER WESE[L], which translates to 'Fine bombasin of Wesel'. The seal has a small knop protruding from the base where it would have adjoined the next seal plate, and there is damage to the top quarter. Otherwise the seal is in very good condition.

A lead alloy sub-circular bag or cloth seal. The seal retains both the front and back parts of the seal but the joining hinge is missing. The back disc is smaller than the front disc. The front disc is depicted with St George and the dragon (only part of the dragon is visible). This stamp shows it was approved by an alnager, a person who ensured that the right length of cloth was supplied in the bale before giving the bale the seal as a mark of approval so it could be sold on. The seal dates from the 17th century, until the alnager's post was abolished in 1699.

A lead alloy two-part cloth seal dating from the 16th to 18th century. The seal is a London Dyer's Company issue and was a stamp of quality attached to bales or rolls of dyed cloth. When complete the seal would have consisted of two discs connected by a tab.
